Maritza Campos

It has recently been brought to the Guild Leader's attention (well, it hasn't actually; it has been brought to the attention of another who brought it to the attention of the Guild Leader) that there has been a distinct neglect of Ms Campos's work in the Guild, and this will not do! Ms Campos is undoubtedly an Evil Cartoonist, and any prolonged absence of her from the Guild is a grace oversight that can only be put down to the fact that the Guild Leader is a lazy cow. So without further ado...

Ah, what can be said of Maritza? What can not? For starters, she is a Guild Master when it comes to torturing characters, having inflicted mutations, misery journeys, unrequited love, and each other on practically each of her long suffering playthi...er, cast. A special mention must be made of Dave Jones, the poor sweet innocent who has been at the mercy so often of chance, circumstance and Mike Green, that it seems that half the online comic reading community (female *and* male) want to get him into bed and make him feel better. Given the fact that this would probably only torture Dave even more were he to find out, this clearly counts as points in Maritza's favour. And this is before we mention his deep love for the survivalist gun-nut who is Margaret...

(happy sigh)

What? Oh, sorry, bit distracted for a second with thoughts of Margaret...

Anyway

Maritza is also no slouch when it comes to plot twists and tormenting readers. This is a woman who nearly invoked the full wrath of her fans (a particularly daunting thought given their dedication to the strip) by killing off the aforementioned Dave. She also tied the entire cast (OK, mostly Dave again) in knots with the arrival of Blue, Mike's equally evil (but far more devious) younger sister, and put them all through emotional hell (not just Dave!) when Roger's new girlfriend Diana was hit by a car as an indirect result of their actions (the Guild Leader thinks technically Roger caused it by calling out to her when she was stepping out into the road but doesn't like to place blame unless it's funny).

Ms Campos also takes  special  honours in the guild for producing some of the *weirdest* plotlines of any of the comics present in the Guild, as well as inspiring the Guild Leader to actually compose the college song for Miskatonic University.
