Jeff Darlington

Another challenging entrant into the Guild, Jeff caused quite a stir when first submitted on the grounds that he was just so damn nice.

No really.

His strip was nice too. It supported the geeks. It cheered with those of us who loved computers as our major hobby, who could write Perl and Java, and understood the ways of Linux. Yes, most of the Guild Committee were about to dismiss Mr Darlington as being too nice.

But  then somebody pointed out Trudy...

Trudy Trueheart. The evil character's evil character. She who beat off so many other applicants to become a member of CRUDE. She who dealt with so many of her company's business rivals by dropping safes on them. Who crushed Fooker's eyeballs with her slinky costumes. Who talked rabbits into killing each other! Yes, Trudy is truly the epitome of evil, the pinnacle to which all evil characters aspire.

So from then on, Jeff was a shoo-in.

There are other strings to his Bow O'Evil (patent pending). His tormenting of characters (See Fooker get a girl! See Fooker lose the girl! See Fooker forever lose the girl to an obnoxious overweight dweeb!). Not to mention the fact that, like other Evil Cartoonists, he has the entire plot of his strip worked out and is heading there decisively, regardless of the shocks caused by, ooh, say, producing all-powerful beings outside time who are watching and judging everything the characters do. And we thought the strip was just about geeks...

Plus, y'know, the man is a Weird Al Yankovitch fan.

EVIL!
